Assassino sinistro

De nuevo se acerca Halloween y mi web cambia su imagen de bienvenida.
Como en los dos años anteriores, también Risotto se encarga esta vez de felicitar a los seguidores de este blog y de mi fansite, muchas gracias.
El líder de la Squadra es ya bastante siniestro de por sí, no necesita disfrazarse de vampiro ni nada por el estilo. Aún así he hecho unos pequeños cambios en su gorro y su ropa para acentuar su aire tétrico.

It's almost Halloween time, so I've changed the top image of my site.
Again, Risotto's  in charge of welcoming the followers of this blog and the fansite. Thank you very much for being there.
The leader of the Squadra has a very sinister look, so he doesn't need a vampire costume or anything like that. But I changed a little his hat and outfit to make him a little scarier.

Ritorno

He estado muy ocupada estos últimos meses, lamento no haber actualizado en tanto tiempo.
Ahora que por fin estoy de vacaciones, quiero remediarlo y compartir más dibujos.

I've been really busy lately. I apologize for not having updated this blog for so long.
Now that I can enjoy some holidays, I'm ready to share drawings and ideas more often.

Forbici

En mi entrada anterior hablé de mi colaboración en una antología de ilustraciones que se ha vendido en la Comic World de Seúl.
Cuando reciba algunos ejemplares, que será pronto, anunciaré aquísu precio y cómo conseguirlos.
Hoy comparto un fragmento de una de las ilustraciones que he presentado. En realidad la había comenzado hace varios meses, pero la dejé de lado por falta de tiempo.
Todo comenzó con este boceto.

In my last post, I spoke about my collaboration with other artists for  an illustration anthology that was sold in Comic World convention, in Seoul.
As soon as I receive some copies, I'll anounce here how to get them and how much they are, in case you are interested.
Today I'm sharing a fragment of one of the two illustration I drew for this book.
I started to work in it months ago, actually, but left it due to my lack of time.
The first step was this sketch.

Al empezar a pintar sobre él modifiqué muchas cosas: los faldones del abrigo, el tamaño de las manos y sobre todo, la cara, que no me convencía.
When painting on it, I  modified several things. I changed the coattails, the size of the hands and redid most the face, that I didn't like very much.

En esta parte del proceso ya se ve cómo cambió el rostro.
In this step you can already see how much the face changed.

Y aquí el resultado final. Cuando se agoten las antologías, mostraré la ilustración completa.
Después de entregar el dibujo me di cuenta de que a uno de los dedos de Risotto, el índice, le falta una falange...No he querido corregirlo después ya que en la antología se ha publicado con este fallo.

And there you have the final result. Only when the anthologies in my site shop will be sold out, I'll show you the full illustration.
After delivering this work I noticed one of Risotto's fingers, the index, lack of one phalange... I haven't correct it later, because it was published this way.

Halloween in anticipo

Este año he querido adelantarme un poco y aunque aún quedan unas semanas, ya es Halloween en mi web. Esta vez, Risotto lleva un sombrero especial para la ocasión, con calabacitas con la caras de Metallica, su stand. Por la expresión de Risotto me parece que no está muy cómodo con su nuevo tocado.

This year I went ahead and it's already Halloween in my site, even if there's still some weeks left for it.
This time, Risotto wears a special pumpkin-Metallica face hat. Looking at his face it seems he isn't enjoying very much wearing it.

Sigo viva y con el mismo cariño de siempre por los asesinos de la Squadra.
Lamento no haber actualizado en todo este tiempo; he estado demasiado ocupada.
Dentro de poco tendré vacaciones y podré recuperar los buenos hábitos.

Fare lo sforzo.

Ha salido a la venta una antología de doujinshi de Risotto Nero que ya he encargado.
Hace algunos meses, las organizadoras del proyecto aceptaban solicitudes para colaborar. Las instrucciones, fechas, formato (con su correpondiente plantilla) etc., pueden leerse aún en este ENLACE.
Jugué con la idea de presentarme. Hubiera sido un sueño hecho realidad formar parte de un proyecto común con algunas de mis doujinkas japonesas favoritas. Pero dudo que me hubieran aceptado siendo extranjera y la comunicación habría sido difícil, puesto que no sé japonés y tendría que haber molestado a algunos amigos para que me hicieran de intérpretes y traductores.
Por otro lado, hace tiempo que no dibujo comic y ¡tengo tantísimo que mejorar en ese campo!
No he sido capaz aún de empezar ninguno de los muchos proyectos de doujinshis que tengo en mente desde el año pasado y llevo un par de meses con una nueva crisis que hace que nada de lo que dibujo estos días merezca la pena. (De ahí que no haya actualizado últimamente este blog.)
Sin duda tengo que esforzarme mucho más si quiero atreverme a hacerme ciertas ilusiones.

A Risotto doujinshi anthology is right now on sale and I ordered it. Months ago, the authors were recruting people to take part in the project. All instructions, deadlines, formats and other informations can  still be read in this LINK.

I played with the idea of collaborating. It could have been so great to be a part of a project with some of my favourite japanese fanartists implied in it! But I don't think they'd accepted a foreigner like me as a partner. Besides, the communication would have been rather difficult, since I can't Japanese. I should  have bothered some friends to translate everything.
On the other hand, I haven't drawn comic for a long time and I have too much to improve in order to be taken into consideration.

I already haven't been able  to start any of the doujinshi projects I have in mind since last year, even the easiest ones. And the worst thing is that right now, I'm on a crisis again.
Lately, I can't draw anything worth being shared. That's why so many time has passed since I last updated this blog.

I can't afford to dream in collaborating with japanese artists before making a bigger effort.

Fratello e l'amico invisibile

Pasadas las fiestas, mi web luce una nueva imagen de bienvenida. Una vez más, Prosciutto y su terrible stand, the Grateful Dead.
Muestro también un fragmento del boceto que ha servido de base.

Christmas time is over and now my site welcomes its visitors with a new top illustration. It's Prosciutto's turn again. I drew him with his scary stand, the Grateful Dead.

Por otro lado, quería mostrar mi regalo del Amigo Invisible que han organizado en tumblr algunos fans de Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Se trata de un llavero de madera, pintado a mano, con la forma de Risotto. Venía en el interior de una bolsa de tela con uno de mis fanarts impresos. Es una auténtica monada.

I also feel like showing you a gift I've recently received. Some Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fans in tumblr organized a Secret santa event. This wooden handpainted keyring is a funny Risotto my Santa made for me. It came into a little cloth bag with one of my fanarts printed on it. A really cute present.

Il mostro

Dentro de poco se celebra Halloween, y abundan los fanarts de personajes disfrazados de monstruos clásicos. Los asesinos de la Pasione no son una excepción.
Sin embargo...¿Hace falta que gente como Risotto y sus hombres se ponga colmillos falsos de vampiro o se pinte cicatrices? Los peores monstruos son los que no tienen un aspecto deforme y espantoso.
Alguien que puede hacer brotar de tus ojos y tu garganta clavos y cuchillos no necesita ponerse una careta de latex para resultar terrorífico.

In few days, it'll be Halloween, so, you can easily find lots of fanart of all kind of characters disguised as famous classical monsters.

La Passione assassins aren't an exception.

But...Do Risotto and his men need to put fake vampire fangs or paint scars on their faces? The most scary monsters are those who don't look terrible at first glance.

Someone able to make nails and knives get out your eyes and throat is frightening enough without a latex mask.

Ritorno da Roma e regali di compleanno

De vuelta de Roma, donde comí risotto de marisco, pizza de formaggio y prosciutto, delicioso gelato y tomé caffe fredo (café con ghiaccio -hielo-).
Durante mi estancia tuvo lugar mi cumpleaños, y cuando regresé encontré algunos magníficos dibujos, regalos de buenas amigas, que comparto no sin cierta vergüenza, ya que mi nivel como artista está muy por debajo el suyo.

Back from Rome, where I eat seafood risotto, formaggio and prosciutto pizza, a delicious gelato and  had a caffe fredo (ice coffee or coffe with ghiaccio).

I celebrated my birthday in Italy. Later, when I was back home, some wonderful gifts from my friends surprised me. I'm sharing them here even if these masterpieces make my own art look like rubbish.

Prosciutto es un regalo de Cris, la maravillosa artista chilena. Risotto es obra de Rowein, otra genial dibujante de la misma nacionalidad con las que mantengo amistad desde hace muchos años.

Zasio, de Estados Unidos, que me dedicó el pastel con estilo de Risotto, es alguien a quien conozco desde hace sólo unos meses, pero a la que aprecio mucho también. Las tres alegraron mucho mi regreso.

Prosciutto is a gift by Cris, the wonderful chilean artist. Risotto was nicely drawn by Rowein, another awsome author from the same country. They are old and friends of me that I love.


Zasio, from the States, "baked" this Risotto cake for me. I met her only some months ago, but I alreadtt admire and like her a lot.
The three of them provided me a very happy return.

Occhi terribili

En las galerías de los fans abundan las ilustraciones en que se representa a Risotto como un personaje mono, aniñado o divertido.
Reconozco que incluso los peores villanos  de Jojo's Bizarre Adventure suelen contar en su diseño con elementos chistosos: corazoncitos o calaveras con orejas de gato en la ropa, peinados imposibles... Es algo poco habitual y que me gusta mucho.
Yo misma he caricaturizado en ocasiones a Risotto al estilo "chibi" (cabezón) como puede verse en el fondo de este blog y no negaré que las parodias humorísticas en que se le ridiculiza me divierten mucho. Pero a veces nos olvidamos de que el líder de la Squadra es un tipo bastante terrorífico. No me cabe duda de Araki no le diseñó con esos extraños ojos para que los lectores tuvieran ganas de pellizcarle los mofletillos.
Por eso me gustaría ver más a menudo a Nero  como alguien a quien ni con una mala borrachera te pondrías a  hacer cucamonas.

In fan galleries you can find very often illustrations of Risotto like a cute, funny or childish character. 

I'm aware that even the most scary villains in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure have always a funny side: hearts or cat-eared skulls in their clothes, impossible hairstyles...That's unusual and I like it.

I, myself, like you can see in this blog background, have drawn Risotto in "chibi" (superdeformed) version in several occasions and I laugh when the assassins are ridiculed in  fan parodies.

But I miss more art in wich Risotto looks like a terrible, sinister guy. I'm sure his eyes where designed by Araki to make him scary, not to impell the fans to pinch his cheeks when looking at him. 

I wish I could see Nero more often like a character you won't feel at all like cuddle even if you were badly drunk.

Libro e Ferie

El libro que comentaba en mi entrada anterior puede comprarse también directamente en la web de blurb. Pero al no pasar por mis manos, si lo encargas ahí no podré firmártelo.
He abierto también una sección de tienda en mi web. Ten en cuenta que los precios que indico ya incluyen gastos de envío.
Acabo de empezar mis vacaciones y quiero aprovechar, entre otras cosas, para dibujar. Pero el jueves me voy al norte del país y no podré actualizar  en más una semana. Me llevaré mi cuaderno por si encuentro hueco para algun boceto.
Hoy traigo un fragmento de un fanart de Risotto que empecé hace mucho y que retomo de cuando en cuando pero nunca termino.

My holidays started yesterday. That means that I'll have more time to draw. But in two days I'm leaving to the North, so I won't be able to update during the next seven days or so. Anyway, I'll take my sketchbook with me.

¿Recuerdas el boceto que utilicé en este mismo espacio para agradecer las primeras mil visitas a mi web?
Pues lo he reciclado y esta vez quiero usarlo para conmemorar que este blog ha sobrepasado las 5.000 visitas. No es una cifra muy llamativa si la comparas con las que llegan a sumar otros blogs que pueden considerarse populares, pero para mí significa muchísimo.

Promessa

Cuando visito las webs de las artistas japoneses que dibujan fanart de Jojo me doy cuenta de lo "pequeña" que soy, de cuánto tengo que mejorar y de lo mucho que les falta a mis dibujos para ser la mitad de atractivos que los suyos. Últimamente no tengo mucho tiempo para practicar, no tengo buenas ideas y a menudo los resultados son frustrantes, pero no quiero tirar la toalla.
A veces pienso que mi web no aporta nada y que debería cerrarla, pero he puesto cariño e ilusión en ella y creo que si soy constante y me planteo como un reto hacerlo cada día un poco mejor, puedo superarme.
Por eso, a los que me leéis o visitaís mi web en silencio, os pido paciencia, prometo mejorar.
Gracias por apoyarme. Como siempre, cualquier comentario, consejo o sugerencia serán muy bien recibidos.

When I visit my favourite Jojo japanese fanartists's sites, I notice how much have I to improve to be half as good as they are and that my drawings can't compete at all with their skilled works. I don't have free time to practice, I lack of good ideas and sometimes, when I finally sit to draw, I hate the results. It's really frustrating, but I can't surrender!.

Sometimes, I feel negative and think that maybe I should close my site, since it isn't interesting for Jojo fans. But I've put a lot of affection and illusion in it and  I'm sure that taking the challenge to draw a little better everyday is the best thing I can do to improve as an amateur artist.

To those that read me and visit my site in silence, thank you. I beg you to be a little patient and I promise to do my best from now on. Any comments, suggestions or advice will be really welcome.

Innocenza perduta

Una de las primeras cosas que nos inculcan desde niños es la diferencia entre el bien y el mal. Y en todas las culturas, salvo en caso de guerra o defensa propia, matar se considera "malo".
Si partimos de la base de que todos nacemos inocentes. ¿Cuándo pierde un asesino esa inocencia? ¿En qué momento decide traspasar la barrera de "lo correcto", desprecia esa enseñanza o deja de temer a su propia conciencia? ¿Se ha criado en un hogar con un sentido de la moral distinto? ¿Ha perdido la fe en la sociedad por algun hecho traumático? ¿Se trata sólo de egoísmo, de que el hecho de matar le produce un placer, o una sensación de poder más gratificante que respetar los valores éticos'. Quizás es mero desprecio a la vida de los demás.
En el caso de Risotto sabemos que su primer crimen fue provocado por  la insatisfacción que sintió ante una Justicia poco equitativa que sólo podría superar buscando venganza por su propia mano.
Pero ¿qué llevaría a sus hombres a dar ese paso que deja atrás para siempre la inocencia?
¿Lo habrán lamentado alguna  vez?

One of the first things they instil in us when we are children is to tell the difference between good and evil, right and wrong. In every culture to kill is considered a "wrong" thing, except  in case of war or self-defense.

If we are all born innocent, when does an assassin lose this innocence? When does he decide to cross the frontier? Maybe he has a different sense of justice, or he rejects it and isn't afraid of his remorses...Did he grew up in a home with  different morals? Did he lose his faith in Society due to a traumatic experience? Or...what if it's just that killing brings him an egoistic feeling of power or pleasure, far more satisfactory than respecting moral values? Or perhaps he just considers other people's lives insignificant.

We know that Risotto started killing because he felt Justice wasn't fair. Only by taking revenge with his own hands could he find satisfation. 

But what happened to his men? Why did they take the step to crime and leave innocence behind forever? Would they have ever regret it?

Han pasado cuatro meses desde que inauguré la web, y ¡ya la han visitado más de mil personas! Quizás pienses que esta cifra no es gran cosa, pero para mí es muy importante, ya que está centrada en unos personajes que no son especialmente populares, y no actualizo tanto como quisiera.
Tengo muchos proyectos, pero ¡me falta tanto tiempo!

Four months have passed since my site started and more than thousend people have visited it!. Maybe you don't find it very impressive, but I'm really satisfied: my site is centered in characters that aren't specially popular and I don't update as often as I should.

I've lot of ideas and projects, but I lack of time!!

Il mio desiderio

Continúa mi preocupación por Japón. Espero que la situación no sea tan alarmante como la pintan en las noticias de mi país. Ojalá el peligro de la central nuclear se desvanezca y la gente pueda ir volviendo a la normalidad, aunque seguramente ya nada va a ser como antes.

Para relajar un poco tanta tensión, este Chibi Risotto decora desde hoy el layout del blog.

I'm still worried about what is happening in Japan. I sincerely hope the situation there isn't as alarming as described on TV news here. I hope danger in nuclear central will finally vanish, so the people will be able to return to their normal lives. Even if such a thing will be impossible for some of them.

To relax a little, I've changed my blog layout: chibi Risotto everywhere.

Io ho bisogno di più tempo!

¡Necesito más tiempo libre! Tengo muchas ideas, incluso para doujinshi. Las anoto en un cuaderno donde se van amontonando por falta de horas para darles forma.
Cuando llego del trabajo estoy muy cansada, y  ya sin ganas de dibujar. ¡Y quiero actualizar la web!
Estoy a medias con un fanart de Formaggio; espero terminarlo y compartirlo este fin de semana.

De momento, aquí va una especie de logotipo...o algo así. Creo que debería rehacer la R del fondo para que la cabeza de Risotto esté mejor centrada.

I need more free time!! I've lot of ideas. I even have sketched several storyboards for doujinshi. I've lot of them in my notebook, but can't find the moment to start drawing these comics for good.

When I'm back from work, I'm so tired that I don't feel like drawing anymore. But I want to update my site!

I'm working right now in a Formaggio fanart. I hope it'll be finished tomorrow.

Now, there you have  a kind of Risotto logo. I think I should have centered better the head inside the R...

 

Bianco e nero: Risotto

Risotto en blanco y negro.
Metallica es un stand poco lucido, no puedes colocarlo junto a su anfitrión porque es muy pequeño y no se suele dejar ver, así que lo he dibujado a modo de patrón, en el fondo.
La naturaleza del stand de Risotto me sugiere que es un hombre de grandes secretos, a quien no le gusta exponer sus verdaderos pensamientos ni sus sentimientos. Sin duda es misterioso y precavido. Tanto es así, que a la hora de matar sólo se deja ver en el último instante. No es de extrañar que con estas cualidades sea un asesino infalible.

Black and white Risotto.

You can't put Metallica close to his host because it's a very discrete stand: so tiny and difficult to see. Besides, it uses to hide inside Risotto's body. That's why to display it next to its owner, I've drawn it as a background pattern.

Metallica's nature suggests me that Risotto may  be a secretive man, who doesn't like to expose his thoughts and feelings. He probably is a very mysterious and cautious guy. When killing, he can be noticed only at the last moment. No wonder he's such a infallible assassin.
